Founding Mass

There was a sense of accomplishment as the Holy Family community came together to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Mass the parish celebrated. On May 10, 1910, seventy-five families assembled in a small cottage and called themselves Holy Family Parish. Who knew that Holy Family would grow to the extent it did? At that time the parish boundaries were Columbia Ave., Alhambra Rd., Garfield Ave., and Arroyo Dr. Now there is no limit to our boundaries with parishioners in So. Pas., and the surrounding areas, and people travel for miles to worship here. The tone of this event was quieter, more reflective, than recent events. The warmth extended from the Mass to the reception as people gathered in gratitude for 100 years of family, Holy Family.
